The Federal Insecticide, Fungicide, and Rodenticide Act
The Federal Insecticide, Fungicide, and Rodenticide Act was developed in order to protect the environment from potentially dangerous pesticides. The law allows for federal regulation on the use of pesiticides including distributing and selling of them. In addition, all pesticides that are sold or distributed in the U.S. must first be approved by the EPA. For pesticides to be registered they must show that they will not cause unreasonable effects to the environment like many have in the past ("Summary of the Federal Insecticide" 2008).
